End of Summer Update

So much has happened that I finally had to grab myself by the scruff of the neck and post, already!

First the bad news: Our refrigerator died and we lost EVERYTHING!  Hey, if you're in the restaurant business it happens.  We will open again September 16, after a new compressor is installed and Mama makes new sauce, chicken salad, meatballs etc.  We are really sorry for the inconvenience especially any new folks who were going to check us out.

Now that we got that out of the way we can go to the good stuff.

The Gallatin News Examiner runs a Best of Sumner County poll each year where residents can vote for their favorite restaurant, night spot, park, etc.  This year Campione's  was included in four categories: Best lunch spot, Best restaurant, best samich and best take out.

We are so thankful to our customers because you voted us second best place for Take Out and 4th best samich in Sumner County!  We are especially humble because no one could vote for us until the poll was two weeks in.  Again, thanks to our customers because we can't do it without you.

Campione's Taste of Chicago celebrated three years of operations on September 11, 2011.  We didn't plan that but that's how it worked out.  Deb and I can't believe it's been that long and that we are still open given all the news of the past 3 years.  We are TIRED but still kicking to bring that Taste of Chicago to Gallatin and the Nashville area.  Thank you all so much for your support and VOLUNTEERING to try something new and different.

Granddaughter Lexie is back at Lee College and will only be working with us on vacations and such.  Here sister Amanda (another blond) is picking up the slack quite well.  We also want to welcome Sandy to the Campione family.  She's been with us a month or so and has been a great addition and really helps Mama Debbie during lunch and at closing.

Grandpa and Grandma Sam and LaRue will be back this fall.  They have been stuck in Alabama while LaRue recovers from sholder replacement surgery.  Rue is doing well but it takes a while

Rob Coxworth, the Big Spiccone, opened Campione's Taste of Chicago with wife Debbie on 911/2008. The aim is to bring Chicago style Italian fast food and pasta to an unsuspecting Tennessee! Both Debbie and the Big Spiccone spent their entire lives in the Chicago area before relocating to Castalian Springs Tennessee so you can be sure the food is authentic Chicago. Debbie is cook, organizer and generally in control having run an Italian Beef stand in Elgin for 10 years. The Big Spiccone is the Big Spiccone, nuff said! If your a Yankee or Damn Yankee (Damn Yankees come South and stay) and miss that taste of home. Stop on by if you're in the area and have lunch or dinner with us. It's like stepping into Chicago by opening our door! judged by two
